SUMMER CAMPS AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS AT AIRBORNE TRAMPOLINE PARK LINDON UT

Two boys assembling a robot in a workshop.

Airborne has teamed up with our friends at Snapology to offer children’s summer camps and after-school programs that not only include the fun activities of Airborne but also a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) educational experience.

During an Airborne Summer Camp or After School Program, campers will enjoy both jumping and S.T.E.A.M. educational activities. Each camp or program will be hosted by a teacher that will instruct the education activities and an Airborne Flight Crew monitor to supervise jumping activities.

What your child will learn

Simple Machines
Students will learn about several simple machines throughout the class. Whether learning about pulleys while creating robotic arms, or wheels and axles as they create their very own pull robots, students will see simple machines in action. They will also begin to think critically about their surroundings and realize all the simple machines they use every day.

Axles, Gears, and Motors
Children will learn about the importance of axles, gears, and motors in mechanical movement. They will actively experiment with these components to create their robots, while facilitating a deeper understanding of mechanics.

Programming Skills
Each week, children will be given a program to operate their robotic build. Students are then encouraged to use critical thinking and programming skills to enhance their robot’s program. Whether making their build respond to motion and tilt sensors, adding loops, or creating fun sounds, children will learn valuable programming skills in an easy to use, drag and drop programming format.

Teamwork/Partner Skills
Small groups and peer partners are key components of Snapology’s classroom approach. We emphasize positive teamwork skills in our programs and constantly work to develop healthy, respectful collaborations between students. Through group planning, sharing of materials, and fun partner experiences, students become more cognizant of how to interact with their peers in a respectful and productive way.

WHAT IS SNAPOLOGY?

Snapology engages children ages 2-14 using LEGO® bricks, K’nex and technology. While the kids are having fun, they sneak in educational concepts. In most cases, kid’s don’t realize how much they are learning!

Snapology’s S.T.E.A.M enrichment programs focus on Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards that teach children about S.T.E.A.M. through the building and manipulation of various DUPLO, LEGO, or K’Nex Models. The activities challenge participants to cultivate problem-solving skills through application of the scientific method and project planning.
